As the holidays approach, people are spending more time, taking more care, and making things a little more special for their friends and family.
Christmas is always such a beautiful time of year, but this one feels different – like so many things in 2020. This time, though, the changes are positive!
Our local Christmas trees farms are doing big business as families take the time to choose and decorate a special tree. The demand for games, puzzles, and hot chocolate bombs (yum!) is way up as people settle in for more cozy family time than they usually spend together. And Christmas cards are making a huge comeback!
Reaching out to friends, family, neighbours, and more with a Christmas card just seems like a good thing to do this year. It’s a simple way to stay connected, send encouragement, and tell the people in our lives that they matter to us.
If you’re writing cards this year, here’s one of my very favourite holiday DIYs that is so simple yet so special:
Scented Christmas cards!
Infusing your cards with essential oils before mailing them is a way to send a special touch of holiday magic — and honestly, it couldn’t be any easier!! Imagine your friend or family member opening their card from you: They’ll get a beautiful whiff of Wild Orange, Holiday Peace, Holiday Joy, or another favourite oil!
It’s this easy:
1. Place your cards in a ziploc bag.
2. Add a few drops of your essential oil of choice to a cotton ball.
3. Place the cotton ball in the bag and seal.
4. Remove cards the next day.
They will smell amazing!! Have fun with this simple DIY and then get those cards in the mail to all the special people on your list!
